Ed Bennett

A singer, musician, and songwriter from SW Michigan, Ed is a retired Saint Joseph Fire Department Captain who sings his “songs that need to be sung.” Known for the thought provoking story lyrics that he relates in song and his incredible good humor and infectious laughter, Bennett draws his choices from a lifetime of listening to old time, bluegrass, country, gospel, folk and humorous music. His criteria is "a song must be "emotional" and move me before I try to learn it and sing it".

Bennett is among the many original founding members of Riversong Music Society and is an active participating RMS staff musician, appearing frequently at the Box Factory For The Arts in Saint Joseph, Michigan during the summer, and at many community festivals and area venues. http://www.boxfactoryforthearts.org

He is an original member of the board of directors for Shady Grove Fiddle Fest Organization which produces an annual summer festival and instrumental contest in SW Michigan, encouraging education and participation for preservation of traditional music for musicians of all ages. http://www.shadygrovefiddlefest.org
